Community School

Tres Volcanes is a Community School!

The 2026-2027 school year will be Tres Volcanes' FIRST year as a Community School!  A Community School is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources.  Community Schools develop and strengthen partnerships between schools and the communities they serve.  Community School's six key practices are:

  • Powerful student and family engagement
  • Collaborative leadership, shares power and voice
  • Expanded, culturally enriched learning opportunities
  • Rigorous community-connected classroom instruction
  • Culture of belonging, safety, and care
  • Integrated system of support

Every community school responds to unique local needs and included the voices of students, families, and residents.  At Tres Volcanes, we will be spending this first year laying groundwork by connecting with staff, students, families, and community members to discuss services that are most in need.

Community School Council

A Community School Council is a group of dedicated adults representing families, neighbors, businesses and organizations in the 3V Community.  Committee members evaluate the needs of the school population, develop programs and help services, and build relationships with the staff, students, and families at Tres Volcances.

Meetings will occur twice monthly, in-person in Learning Suite D101.
